My Favorite Places
My greatest pleasures in life are found on the beaches of Florida, sinking my toes in the powder soft sand, collecting uninhabited sea shells - (nature’s perfect art), floating weightless in the salty waters of the ocean and watching fiery red sunsets fade to twilights with purple and pink hued clouds. I love this time for it’s perfect balance between day and night, light and darkness. An avid beachcomber, Shell is also my name. When my nieces and nephews were young, it was too difficult for them to say, “Michelle,” so they called me “Shell” The name stuck. My family and close friends still call me Shell.
Through travels to over 35 countries, Costa Rica thrilled me with its four different eco regions and diverse flora and fauna, Istanbul, Turkey offered the most astounding history and the gilded temples, cuisine and islands of Thailand superseded the beauty of dozens of islands in the Caribbean and Hawaii.
In the last several years, I survived a house fire, the loss of my father and mentor, a dear friend, my previously happy relationship with my partner of 13 years, Lyme disease, a complex autoimmune condition and the industry I worked in--travel.
I believe I am here now to be a voice to help others express their stories of trials, tribulations, love and loss. Because in the end, our legacy to our families and friends is the love we shared and our stories. It would be my privilege to ensure your life stories live on.
