Lara was born and raised in London and studied Russian and Spanish at university. She started a blog about her experiences of living abroad in 2018 and worked as an English language tutor and nanny before taking the leap to pursue a career in journalism in 2022. Currently she is a freelance diary reporter and features writer for the Evening Standard. Her byline appears in The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Independent, The i paper, Business Insider, Women in Journalism, Wonderland, The Calvert Journal, WhyNow and more. Her other freelance jobs include hosting live events at Soho House, content creating for Woo (an ITV social media channel for Gen Z), copywriting for private clients, and working as a production assistant for a literary festival. Lara is always looking for a story and a creative way to tell it.
