Bio
Elaine has over 25 years’ experience in publishing as an editor, commissioning editor, development editor and publisher. Born and raised in Bristol with degrees in History and Law, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, Elaine worked as a paralegal for a commercial law firm in London and then in various publishing roles for professional law publishers. Moving from the hustle and bustle of London to rural Oxfordshire, Elaine worked for publishers on professional, vocational and educational texts. At Oxford University Press, she set up and managed a team of development editors working on new works and major new editions. For the last 15 years, Elaine has been working as a freelance editor on vocational, academic and educational texts for a range of publishers. Her interests include travel and award-winning photography which she was able to combine some years ago on a six-month sabbatical to travel the world. When she isn’t busy with her two children, she enjoys reading, cycling, walking her dog around the country lanes of her village, coffee with friends and volunteering for local charities.
