Googled "how to get a book written & published" and Story Terrace came up. Have not been disappointed with the service I have received from start to finish. There were a couple of misunderstandings with my first interviews but these got rectified efficiently and Zoe & Alice have been extremely helpful in making my dream book become a reality.

Delighted to have at last written my story for my family! I frequently told my family that I'd like to write about my early life - so different from my own children's and grandchildren's. Realising that I perhaps never would, they signed me up with Book Terrace. I am so grateful that they did and that I have at last written my story before it's too late! It has been a most rewarding experience and everyone I have dealt with has been very pleasant, helpful and encouraging. Possibly unusually, I actually wanted to write it myself, with professional guidance. I probably did not make that clear enough from the start. My first (very lovely) writer was willing but not really at ease with what I needed. I would advise anyone wanting to use their own words to make it clear from the start before choosing a 'writer'. That is advice, in no way a criticis

From the introductory meeting to the final publication, the whole process was straightforward and professionally supported throughout. Due to close family bereavements, it was necessary to extend our deadline, and this was arranged with thoughtfulness and care. All amendments were quickly dealt with and appropriate advice provided throughout. If anyone is thinking of writing a book but not sure how to go about it, I would recommend speaking with Story Terrace and see if they can help … they certainly did with us!

Autobiography Ultimately we got an autobiography written for my father-in-law which is of great quality and will be cherished for generations. The entire process of writing such a book, especially for elderly person is not so easy (for lots of reasons). My main feedback to StoryTerrace would be to set better expectations for their clients. For example there is a limit to how well the ghost writer can edit the interviews - it needs someone with intimate knowledge of the person's life to really know how to properly edit, so in many ways it is a joint effort between between the ghost writer and the subject (or someone on the subject's behalf). However StoryTerrace are a professional company and are very polite and accepting of changes throughout the process. I would use them again.

Incredible life experience. A gift for life and a huge gift for my family. I found the experience therapeutic, my writer was the most kind and empathetic soul en the support with explanations and time management was hugely helpful(and needed!)

Great experience I purchased this as a gift for my 83 year old father. Dad was guided by Gill, his fantastic writer, through the interview and the review process. The website was clear and easy to use helping us to understand where we were in the process, and our editor was on hand to pick up anything we missed. Our proof reader was fantastic and raised some really interesting observations! I think it would be harder for someone less familiar with reviewing drafts but I would recommend StoryTerrace and thank Gill for helping Dad write his life story so beautifully.

StoryTerrace has been a life line for me, as during my depression and mental health recovery journey they assisted me to organise my thoughts when writing my story. Where you all come from I think the final product was excellent and serviced the interest of all my children as a record of their father's journey to their eventual existence extremely well. As a slight surprise to me was the amount of research and infills that had to be done but Nadine Wojakovski the writer did extremely well to fathom out and put into very good collation the sequential events for the story line of one's life and ancestry.The investigations both through photographs and records that one made into one's past certainly brought back quite a few almost forgotten memories to the surface both emotive and factual. I purchased this for my dad's 70th birthday. The interviews went well and online system easy to operate. Changes and edits to drafts were all done quickly. We're very happy with the finished manuscript and the printed books looks fantastic. Not cheap, but good quality and I would recommend.

My was satisfactory experience with story Terrace was… My experience with story Terrace was good I had an excellent person who helped to put it altogether.I would agree with one of your writers I didn’t realise that there was a time limit & word limit, so I felt a bit rushed in the end.! My one complaint is with Amazon I ordered a couple of my books for family members, when they arrived I was disgusted it was a flimsy paperback all my photos were in black& white & not very good quality at all so returned them & complained. So would feel ver distressed if any one else had tried to purchase one if they received one like that, I would be totally embarrassed. Otherwise I am pleased with my book.

This latest experience was by far the best.My project manager Xiaofang Ma connected me with an exceptional writer Jodi Potgeter. Xiaofang saw to it that my every need was taken care of immediately and therefore this whole writing process was a fulfilling and joyful experience. My Life Story My son said that I should write my life story and produced a new pocket dictation machine to encourage me to do so but giving it thought, I decided to go the Story Terrace way instead. Excellent service throughout Excellent service throughout. The writing and editing was done by Clare Pugh. Due to major health problems the project was shelved before completion, restarting after a couple of years. Clare had moved on from Story Terrace although she has become a personal friend of the subject, Pamela, and the project was completed efficiently and sympathetically by Penny Clark.

Patience and understanding Following the passing of my mother, I attempted to complete her project with story terrance. I got in contact with Beverly who was very empathetic to my situation . I was then assigned to Marguerite for final edits etc. Her patience and empathetic approach provided me with the necessary strength and hope to carry on with my mothers book after her recent passing. I never felt rushed to find the words to complete the project or that my emotional state was misunderstood. Grateful for Marguerites warmth and support as I navigated through the experience.

wonderful experience and the best memory for my dad I had a great experience working with Story Terrace. From start to finish the editors and writers were so engaged with the biography of my dad. Marguerite O'Callaghan, my editor, and Gill Chilton, my writer, were wonderful to work with. They fully understood the time pressure I was in given that my dad was dying of cancer. Sensitive throughout the process, they never rushed me or pressured me. Yet they were kind and considerate. A tough job, done well Priya and Corinna were very good at getting the job done! I was ill during the process and they worked with me and pushed hard to get the project completed. StoryTerrace has a core challenge in that it has to complete projects on time to ensure their costs dont overrun, whilst combining this with understanding people's emotions, drivers, passions and personal journeys. These, quite frankly, are huge and unfiltered which can be massively challenging to refine but I was happy with Corinna's skill as a writer in doing this for my family. Well done on navitgating the challenges and thank you for your support throughout. We got there in the end Priya!

The Boy From the Toon My son Jamie had been trying to get me to put my life story to print for a long time but I was always unsure if I wanted to do that but in the end I said OK and he introduced me to Garth Cartwright who paid me a visit and I was a bit wary of telling a total stranger about my life but Garth was very helpful and set me on the course of getting my history/story going. Once I started I found it quite enlightening to remind myself about everything I had done (and still doing!) along the way. I'm 71 now so it went on a bit, then a bit more and another bit ;0) Very happy with the end result and thanks to Garth and enjoyed our meetings to get it done.

Everyone should do this Cathartic, emotional, thought provoking, memory jogging, perspective gaining experience. I wanted to make sure I got some memories down on paper before they were lot, the process made me recall some things that already were. I enjoyed every step of the process, even if no one even reads what has been written it has been so worth it. I cannot recommend StoryTerrace enough, the whole process is great from the selection of an author, through the interviews, even the editing was fantastic

The first draft read like me speaking with all the ticks of verbal speech, rather than a more flowing written text. Further drafts were gradually corrected. I am not very technical consequently correcting text took me longer. The editors who worked with me were throughout most cooperative, giving useful advice and very patient. I am grateful to Marguerite who guided me through the final stages, always finding solutions to technical questions. The process overall was hampered by covid. I look forward to receiving the book in a couple of weeks time. Thanks storyterrace

Loved the whole journey! Writing our book was a wonderful experience for the family. Our writer Audrey was so professional and friendly every step of the way and helped us to remember so much. Priya was also so professional, patient and nothing was a trouble at all.

In my own words…. The idea of the book was a gift from my son Mark and his wife Melody. While i did not fancy writing intimidate aspects of my life i relented. I enjoyed working with Sarah Strickland, the writer, who has been fabulous is defining the story and structuring it so that it covered the salient points i made in the book. Sarah was very cooperative and bent over backward to make the book convey my story. I highly recommend working with Sarah.

We were bought our book by our… We were bought our book by our daughters for our 80th Birthdays in 2022. It was quite a long `remembering' process and our writer Claire Middleton was prepared to go at our pace and even allow us to do a lot of the writing - which she later corrected! The books are beautiful - a good size and nicely printed. Just one thing which we were not happy about -we had no idea there were penalties to be incurred if we went over the allotted time and so when we were informed of that we felt we had to finish it very quickly - perhaps not checking the final script as carefully as we would otherwise have done.

Story Terrace opened a door for me to… Story Terrace opened a door for me to write a book. I wrote a book some years ago but information I got said I must get an agent or publisher to print and publish my book. I tried but failed. Story Terrace appeared and I was able to have my dream fulfilled. They helped me in two important ways. I was provided with a professional writer who helped me, writing down my thoughts, structuring it, and literally wrote it all down and made it into my book. It was printed and published. I got help from the office also. They answered all my queries They knew their business, which gave me confidence, all the way. I think for many like me who didn't know how to get their book done, Story Terrace is the answer.

A mother's story for her son I'd held my story in my head for 14 years and finally StoryTerrace have brought it to life....in the most beautiful way. A huge thank you to everyone involved. A considerate company when dealing with elderly We had been given a wonderful writer for Dad to tell his story to. We were able to type stuff up and send it over when Dad told me things in between. As Dad's health was up and down due to his serious ill health and hospital appointments all involved with us from Story Terrace were very understanding. I had to finish the book by adding pictures after Dad passed away. Again as this was hard for me they were understanding. The book produced was great and due once published I was able to get more copies at their cost to send to relatives and friends. Great comments from all who have seen or had a copy of the book. They wrote how Dad wanted it. With facts and in chronological order. Payments were easy to make and knowing I still have Dad with me through his words his worth the money it cost me.

I really enjoyed and found the… I really enjoyed and found the interviews with Gregg interesting and helpful. They brought back all sorts of memories that had laid dormant for decades. The process made me question a lot of things that I never expected. Am I an egotist for doing this, have I regrets, what have I achieved, have I filled my time on the planet positively, it was a cathartic experience not always comfortable but definitely worthwhile. One thing I felt was that I’d barely scratched the surface and there was a lot more to explore. As a not especially hi functioning computer person I found the photo uploads a bit difficult.

I came across them and arranged an introductory call about getting my mothers story in a book. I hoped they would find someone suitable as her story is about a very specific time and place, they surpassed my expectations.
