Step 1: Finding Your Writer
Tell us a bit about yourself and what kind of writer you are looking for
It’s important to us to make the right match between storyteller and writer, as it’s truly the key to a lovely book.
Once you get in touch with Story Terrace we can talk about your story and your writer preferences. Maybe you’d like to work with a writer who shares your passion for a certain hobby, or who grew up in the same region as you. Or perhaps it’s more important that your writer knows the ins and outs of your profession.
If you see your book as a record of your adventures, we work with more than a few creative novelists who’d love to help you create the book you envision. On the other hand, maybe you’d be happier with a journalist – it’s all up to you.
We will then recommend a professional writer that fits your preferences and style requirements
With your preferences in mind, our UK editor Emily McCracken will propose a few writers who complement you and your story – who can tell your story in your own voice.
During the matching process feel free to look at the Our Writers page on the website to learn more about the writers we’ve proposed and their writing techniques. Or you could use the page to learn about all of our writers and choose the best fit yourself.
Our writers have proven interviewing skills, professional storytelling abilities and the talent to capture your voice. If we’re doing things right, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Your writer will get in touch for an introductory chat and to explain the process further
This is where the fun really begins. At this stage, It’s time to get in touch and meet your writer over Skype or have a chat on the phone. Your writer will introduce themselves and explain the next steps.
Once you’ve spoken with the writer and you feel satisfied it’s the right match, you can give your final approval. Now you’re ready for the next step in the process…Only five more to go until your book is complete!
