Gareth is an award-winning British-Canadian poet, novelist, dramatist, and filmmaker. He has a BA in English Literature and MA in Scriptwriting & Playwriting. Commercially, Gareth has licensed a brand of typographic greeting cards to Camden Graphics; won Creative Future's National Poetry Award; and was a finalist in The Literary Consultancy's Pen Factor Award. In 2022, he won a DIT-British Embassy Pitch Fund for his science-fiction animation, miBOTS, subsequently shortlisted in Cannes. In 2023, he was named ‘Producer to Watch’. Gareth’s films and plays have been shown in London, Toronto, Brighton and Cannes. He lives in Brighton with his rescue dog, Pimms.

Tom is a ghost-writer, screenwriter and film producer with a passion for personal and unexpected true stories. In film and TV he has worked with the likes of Sky and the BBC, as well as production companies including Double Dutch, Happy Prince, Moonriver TV, Watford & Essex and 108 Media. Through his experiences working on a true WW1 story about motorcycle racers who went to the front lines - a story passed down the generations of a friend’s family – he discovered a desire to find and help people tell their own story. He has learnt that everyone has an amazing story – and believes everyone should have the chance to tell theirs.

Angela is a former school teacher and experienced freelance writer who has written for clients including Reader’s Digest, Stylist, and The Evening Standard. Because teachers never really leave education behind, Angela regularly produces educational materials for several careers and revision companies. Rachel has more than 30 years’ experience in writing and interviewing. After beginning her journalism career on a Sunday newspaper in Australia, she moved to the Daily Mirror in London as a staff feature writer, which saw her doing everything from shadowing doctors to interviewing Olympic gold medal ice-skaters. After writing for a range of magazines, from the Daily Telegraph to The Times, she left newspapers for glossy magazines – first as deputy editor of ELLE, then editor of ELLE Decoration. After living in France for ten years, she is now freelancing in the Dorset countryside, where she continues to contribute to magazines and national newspapers as well as to a local news website she launched with her husband. In addition to journalism, she has published a book, Art at Home: An Accessible Guide to Collecting and Curating Art in Your Home, and ghost-written a story about a World War Two evacuee. Jonathan G
Jonathan is a former stand-up comedian who now works as an award-winning conceptual copywriter in advertising. Since gaining a First-Class degree in Creative Writing he has written in virtually every medium there is but most enjoys the chance to tell unusual and emotional real-life stories. He has written a social history of stand-up comedy in the 21st century for which he interviewed over fifty people in the comedy industry. After having completed a highly selective novel writing course run by legendary literary agency Curtis Brown he has also finished his first novel.
Peter H
Peter completed his MA in Creative Writing (with distinction) at MMU in 2004, after which he combined work as a freelance writer with a civil service career that saw him travel the world, forming life-long friendships with people from a range of cultural backgrounds. In recent years, he found publishing success in Hong Kong, where he co-edited two fiction anthologies and saw his latest novel released by an international publisher. These days, Peter lives in Lancashire – where at least some of his roots spring from – when he's not exploring his new roots in Argentina, from where both his amazing wife and globetrotting cat hail. He loves working on projects that offer a genuine connection, whether that’s creating inspiring educational texts for high school students, helping a Hong Kong shoemaker tell his rags-to-riches story, interviewing designers as an unlikely fashion correspondent, or producing a podcast that allows other writers, musicians and artists to talk about their life and work.

Stephan is a Creative Writing graduate who has been writing and reading ever since he first picked up a book and discovered the joy of the story at a very young age. Since finishing his degree at the University of Winchester, he has pursued many avenues of writing – from fiction and poetry, to journalism and copywriting for social media, to video scriptwriting and blogs. Stephan is also a passionate LGBT+ activist, and has been invited to speak at various events, both in person and online, to discuss gender identity, sexuality, and how to navigate the world as a person from a marginalised community.

Lance has been a university academic and writer of non fiction for 30 years. As a Professor, he has a PhD (NUI Dublin) and four other degrees to his name. He has written three books, edited several others along with journals and is currently writing a novel. Interviewing people and oral history is key to his research. Lance has taught the world over: Germany, Brazil, Austria, Spain, Ireland, across a wide age range in formal university, school and community college settings. When he's not writing, he channels the depths of his writing experience to act as a private writing mentor to others.

She is currently writing for the leading digital wedding planning platform, Hitched. I studied French and Drama at Manchester University and then got a job for a French speaking touring theatre company, travelling around the UK, and the Channel Islands and also in Canada. Subsequently, I worked as a dramaturg in the Literary Department at the Royal Court Theatre developing the plays of fledgling writers, as well as writing myself, for the Royal Court Young People’s theatre and Lewisham and Peckham youth theatres. I then moved into television and for the past twenty years have been working as a Script Writer, Script Editor, Executive Producer and Development Producer for various television production companies.

Born and raised in the US, Zoe moved to Cardiff to get her BA in Journalism, Media and English Literature. She has written for a number of online publications, covering everything from current events to book and theatre reviews. Susan Marsh is a professional freelance writer with a degree in Creative Writing and a Masters in Activism and Social Change. Starting out as an advertising copywriter, she spent over a decade as a digital nomad, flitting between urban Europe and the palm-fringed shores of South East Asia — earning her keep with stories along the way. Today she is settled in a tiny cottage by the sea in North Devon, where she spends her days writing, swimming, and messing about in boats. Susan particularly enjoys spinning tales of the weird and wonderful, and has had her work published in the Fortean Times. She has written for everything from international brands to small local charities, and recently penned a stage play about a talking mongoose called Gef.
Vanwy A
Vanwy is an award-winning writer who has performed her work alongside Daljit Nagra, Imtiaz Dharker and Ian MacMillan. Her work has been exhibited in various art spaces and museums in London and Cornwall. She has been placed in many writing competitions and is published in a variety of anthologies. Vanwy has been a writer in residence at the Bloomsbury Festival many times. She obtained her Writing MA from the acclaimed Warwick University Writing Programme and her post-graduate qualification in teaching writing from the University of Cambridge. Vanwy teaches writing and her course, ‘Writing a Successful Memoir’, has been identified by the Workers Education Association as one of the most popular courses it has run nationally.
Tara B
Tara wrote her first play whilst she was at high school. It was produced by the pupils and went on to have several showings even after she had left. At university Tara had her first articles published in the student papers and she went on to write her first short films. Since then she has published a book, won the Lloyd’s Bank Channel Four Film Competition and written over one hundred hours of prime time television. She is currently writing her second book but she loves nothing more than listening to other people tell their unique and personal stories.

Stuart has been a journalist and writer for nearly 40 years after graduating in history and politics from Lancaster University. He has written a biography of former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini and interviewed many of the great names in British sporting history. He is not just a sports writer, however, being a keen historian and genealogist, as well as having a love of the northern hills and an insatiable curiosity for just about everything!

Marcella Edwards (UK) began her publishing career at Vintage Random House, where she worked on the paperback list. She moved to HarperCollins and then to Penguin, where she worked on the Classics list. She then moved to the PFD literary agency, where she represented a wide range of authors. Marcella has worked with many brilliant writers, including William Trevor, Desmond Morris, Jeanette Winterson, Simon King and Sinead O’Connor.
Debasmita R
Debasmita has a strong background in academics. She collected degrees and learned five languages as a hobby. Long ago, she realised her calling for the written word. The narratives that we build for ourselves impress her the most. From holding a corporate job to working with the most vulnerable, she has a vast range of experience. Being a content writer for the past nine years, she got the opportunity to work with the best brands and raise important questions. As a published author of a media and gender studies book, she is still looking for stories to tell. When not writing she is busy cooking Bengali vegetarian dishes to familiarise friends and acquaintances with some near-lost recipes.

Eleanor Leese
Eleanor Leese (UK) has been a freelance editor for fifteen years and has worked with top publishers including Penguin Random House, where she was the editor for the upcoming book Speed, Aggression, Surprise: The Secret Origins of the Special Air Service by writer/director Tom Petch. She also edited The Stone Mason: A History of Building Britain by Andrew Ziminski, which was published by John Murray Press and called “delightful” by the The Daily Telegraph and “absorbing and engaging” by the Times Literary Supplement. Eleanor specialises in history non-fiction and has a postgraduate qualification in Historical Studies from the University of Oxford. She also enjoys narrative non-fiction on the topics of local history or genealogy, politics, political memoir, and true crime. When she’s not at her desk, Eleanor can usually be found chasing down forgotten historical women in an archive or library, continuing her extensive research into women in the sixteenth century.
Kay Farrell
Kay Farrell (UK) worked at award-winning publisher Sandstone Press for seven years, editing fiction and non-fiction across a range of subjects. She is particularly proud of having edited the English-language edition of Celestial Bodies by Jokha Alharthi, which won the Man Booker International Prize. Other titles she edited include the Betty Trask Award and Guardian ‘Not the Booker’ winner Sweet Fruit, Sour Land by Rebecca Ley; and Bump, Bike and Baby by Moira O’Sullivan, longlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year. In 2019 Kay was selected as a Bookseller Rising Star and Saltire Society Emerging Publisher of the Year. In 2021 she was inducted into the Edinburgh Napier University Alumni Hall of Fame.
