Ian is something of a renaissance man. After university, he trained at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and worked successfully as an actor. Interpreting the words of great writers such as Shakespeare, Coward and Rattigan inspired him to compose his own and he ran a new-writing theatre company at The Young Vic Studio, writing and directing ten plays, funded by The Arts Council. He wrote a book based on this experience, Special Talents, Special Needs, published by Jessica Kingsley and translated into several languages. Journalism was next and he quickly became a successful writer working for the Guardian, the Independent on Sunday, The Times Magazine, the Wall Street Journal et al. People and their stories fascinate Ian and profiles are one of his greatest passions.
As a Story Terrace writer, Ian provides professional ghostwriting services to capture customers’ life stories through carefully crafted anecdotes. Get in touch today to work with him!
